AIRPORT ROBOTS TAKE OFF
CTV News covers passenger-assistance robots answering questions and guiding travellers at Halifax Stanfield.
Computer Vision · Applied AI · Systems Integration
Maritime Robotics builds systems that turn images and video into useful information and action.
We combine computer vision, application software, and integrated hardware to help teams inspect infrastructure, understand their surroundings, and automate physical tasks.
Based in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
HOW WE BUILD
Computer vision is at the centre of our work. We connect perception with the software, devices, and workflows needed to use it in practice.
Detect objects and conditions, interpret depth and spatial information, and turn images and video into structured results.
Connect field capture, on-device processing, and cloud analysis around the requirements of each deployment.
Give people practical tools to review results, manage exceptions, and turn detections into decisions and tasks.
Integrate cameras, edge computers, vehicles, and robotic platforms into complete systems suited to their operating environment.
We design connected and cloud-based systems with encrypted communications, controlled access and privacy-conscious data handling.
Maritime Robotics is a young company, but we're already making a big impact! Check out some of our news coverage!
It all started once upon a lab...
In 2018, we assembled our first bot in Dalhousie ACM lab, with 3d computer vision & navigation. The bot was tailored by our us to restaurants and showcased the state of the art. From there, the possibilities of what we could do with this technology struck us, but more work was needed.
We developed custom software to adapt each robot to real client needs, connecting perception, navigation and tailored interfaces in one working system. That experience continues to shape how we integrate visual data, software and physical devices today.
We remain proudly rooted in Halifax, where our team designs, integrates and supports systems built for real local needs.
We source globally and build locally.
You may have seen some of our hardware and custom software in stores, restaurants, or other spaces around Halifax.
Great things are on the way. If you want to see what we can do for you and your space, contact us.
AI ROAD INSPECTION
Vehicle-mounted imaging, practical computer vision and one traceable workflow for municipal road maintenance.
01 / FIELD DETECTION
Each detection remains connected to its original frame, confidence and location so reviewers can verify what the system found.

OUR CORE VALUES
Our values shape how we build technology, work with partners, and grow local expertise.
Build local expertise and create opportunities in Nova Scotia.
Bring different perspectives into the teams and systems we build.
Develop solutions with the people who will use them.
Test ideas, learn from evidence, and improve what technology can do.
Our commitment to our local communities starts with our partnership with universities. World-class talent comes through our province, and we are committed to keeping it here with in-house training and opportunities. We hire local talent in the maritimes to work on our projects.
Maritime robotics is a woman-owned technology business. In STEM fields, we have broken barriers and stood on the shoulders of giants, which is why we believe that Diversity - whether in ethnicity, sexual or gender identity, enhances our teams and our free echange of ideas, and helps us better understand our clients and their customers.
Good ideas come from all of us, and all of us make good ideas into good solutions together. We work with our clients & partners to find solutions that fit your use case.
We look at the future as a bright horizon on a stormy sea. While there may be challenges, we believe that people working together with technology can meet them and find that brighter tomorrow.
